Differences Between Honest vs Pampers Pure

Sizes 

I’ve noticed that Pampers Pure is larger than Honest, especially at the back.

Pampers Pure in general, is slightly wider and longer than Honest.

But here’s the thing – I noticed Honest has a longer absorbency core than Pampers Pure.

That means, Honest can better absorb wetness at the front and back, since it actually has an absorbent core at both ends, unlike Pampers Pure.

Both diapers have the same available sizes, starting at Newborn size up to Size 7. 

Comfort

I find Pampers Pure less rough than Honest. 

Pampers Pure feels adequately soft, but not as cottony soft as say, Hello Bello.

Anyway, I’ve seen some mixed comments from other parents saying that Pampers Pure doesn’t feel as soft and even caused a diaper rash. While others say it’s the only diaper that didn’t irritate their baby’s sensitive skin.

With regards to Honest, I seriously found it off-putting that it looked like a sanitary napkin.

Like seriously, am I the only one who’s turned off by how it looks like? 

Cause I find sanitary napkins not that soft and now I already have this instant bias against Honest.

I haven’t seen anyone commenting yet on how it looks like a sanitary napkin – no mention of it in forums, Facebook groups, or even on Reddit. 

So I’m thinking, am I the only crazy bitch here, lol.

And now that I have that biased thinking, I really don’t like how Honest feels.

It feels rougher than Pampers Pure, at least for me.

I’ve also read a lot of mixed reviews about Honest’s “gentleness” on baby’s skin, with some saying it feels soft and comfy on their kid.

While others say it irritated their baby’s skin.

Absorbency 

This is a little bit tricky to assess since both diapers, based on my test, are not very efficient in absorbing a lot of wetness.

It was unlike my comparison review of Huggies Little Snugglers vs Hello Bello – you can clearly see who won the absorbency test there!

Anyway, I did consider a winner between Honest vs Pampers Pure when it comes to absorbency, which you can watch in my comparison video review below, at the 2:40 mark:

If you don’t have time to watch the 2 absorbency tests I did, it was Honest Diaper that won both tests.

But you have to watch the whole video to see why I don’t give both diapers high marks for absorption.

I’ve also seen mixed reviews for both diapers regarding their absorbency. With some parents saying it prevents diaper leaks, while others are saying it has caused a lot of diaper blowouts.

Security and Fit

Both Pampers Pure and Honest have decent flexibility but are not super stretchable, based on my test.

But for most parents, they find Pampers Pure adequately flexible and Honest seems to run small and fits skinny babies best.

They have more or less the same kind of stretchiness, especially at the leg-hole part.

But Honest has stickier tabs than Pampers Pure.

Sticky tabs are necessary to keep the diapers on a very curious, very active baby, especially when the diaper is filled with poop and pee!

Design

Hello Bello wins this round at least, as it offers more colorful prints and designs, than Pampers Pure.

Colorful diapers can help distract a baby during a diaper change.

I just really wished both diapers had the “front” and “back” label, so parents can easily tell which side is which, making changing diapers much more quicker.

Wetness Indicator 

Both have a wetness indicator although I can barely see Honest’s, probably because of the diaper design that I picked for testing.

Price

Both Pampers Pure and Honest don’t come cheap. Honest actually is more expensive than Pampers Pure.

They’re not super expensive like Coterie diapers, but they’re still pricey.

I would recommend neither for those with a tight budget.
