Sizes 

Pampers Easy Ups are available in sizes 2T-3T, 3T-4T, 4T-5T and 5T-6T.

While Huggies Pull-Ups size starts at 2T up to 5T.

It can be a little bit confusing as to what size to get for your child, with manufacturers advising to follow the recommended weight instead of clothing size.

So prepare for a bit of trial and error, especially if you’ve never tried both training pants.

Most parents are saying to always go one size up for both the Easy Ups and Pull-Ups diapers.

Types

It’s pretty straightforward with Pampers as they only have 1 kind of training pants diaper – the Easy Ups.

It’s quite different with Huggies, as they have 3 types of Pull Ups!

Comfort 

Both the Pulls Ups or Easy Ups are like a training diaper-underwear. 

It’s designed to make it easy for toddlers to push down and pull up their diapers on their own.

Which can encourage them to become more independent and boost up their confidence when potty training!

Pampers Easy Ups have a super soft like cotton quality, a trait that has always been in their diapers, even in their Swaddlers.

A lot of parents say it looks very comfortable on their kid, it’s a whole lot stretchier and flexible, especially the waistband area.

The sides are mesh and very soft and don’t feel rough or scratchy on your toddler’s skin.

A few parents though have complained about their kids having rashes or discomfort from wearing Pampers Easy Ups.

Some parents have also noticed a strong powdery smell coming from the Easy Ups, especially when it gets wet.

Huggies Pull-Ups are also made of soft material with an elastic and stretchy waistband.

Pampers don’t have that feature but you can easily rip off the sides if you need to. Especially when you have a very spoiled and poopy diaper.

For most parents and caregivers though, the lack of a velcro tab or refastenable sides can be a big inconvenience, especially in a public place.

Because to take off the Pampers Easy Ups and put it back on, you must take off your child’s pants and shoes.

Which I can imagine is quite a hassle in public, especially for a very independent and assertive child, who wants to take off their diapers on their own.

Absorbency 

Pampers Easy Ups has dual leak guard barriers and extra absorbent channels that can protect against diaper leakages.

Most parents are happy with how absorbent Pampers Easy Ups is, especially with their very active kids. As it can hold messes for hours.

Some parents have even managed it for overnight use with zero to minimal diaper change!

A few parents though have complained about how leaky it can get, especially when used for naps or nighttime sleeping.

Huggies Pull ups have also an extra absorbency and leak protection feature where it counts, especially at the sides.

• Use a waterproof pad protector

These have been lifesavers. I thought I was going insane from changing the bedsheet every day!

There was even a time where I just placed a towel on the bed and just made my daughter move on the dry side of the bed, cause I was too effing tired (and lazy) to change it! 

So waterproof mattress pad protectors are the bomb. Especially those that can stay in place and are comfortable to lie on for your kids.

• Use diaper inserts at night

If you have a heavy wetter, especially at night, use a diaper insert. It will absorb more of the wetness, which means you get to change the sheets less.

Pull Ups vs Easy Ups: Which One Should You Get?

Based on my research and the hundreds of reviews and feedback from parents online, I’d recommend Huggies Pull Ups for daytime use and if there’s zero to minimal leakages, for nighttime use too.

But if it keeps leaking at night, I’d recommend using Pampers Easy Ups for overnight sleeping but still use Huggies Pull Ups for daytime.

A lot of parents, caregivers, and even daycare teachers prefer Huggies Pull Ups for their resealable sides. Some teachers will even ask you to use Huggies Pull Ups for school!

The resealable feature is convenient to have, as kids don’t need to remove their clothing when putting on and taking off their diapers.

Personally, though, I have never used any training pants or diapers on my kid. 

I’ll write more on how I potty trained my kid next time. But for me, I just did it the traditional way. 

We had regular toilet visits, no wearing of diapers (even at night). We also used waterproof pad protectors until she had completely stopped peeing at night in her undies.

It was challenging at first and it took a month for my kid to confidently use the toilet and to have ZERO accidents at night.

But if you’d be more comfortable with using a training pants diaper, by all means, use one. I almost lost my marbles toilet training my kid without some training pants, so please for your sanity, get one.

And also don’t put too much pressure on yourself and your kid. 

If they’re growing normally, they will eventually be potty trained. You guys can do this!
