This is really interesting because I made 2 comparison videos on these diapers – for Size 1 and Size 3.

Just so you know, the results are so different!

Here’s what I’ve noticed about the absorbency of both Size 1 Huggies and Pampers diapers:

• Pampers can absorb 50ml faster than Huggies.
• BUT Pampers doesn’t equally absorb the liquid as its sides still feels wet.
• Huggies can absorb 250ml of liquid faster than Pampers.
• But it had a tiny leak.

Below is my Size 3 comparison review video, which had a different result compared to the Size 1 review.

Here’s what I found out on this absorbency test:

• Huggies can absorb 50ml of liquid faster than Pampers
• Both diapers can quickly absorb an additional 100ml of liquid

Pampers Swaddlers

• Mixed review on absorbency
• Some say it only tends to work on the front of the diaper, doesn’t really work for overnight use
• While others say it works very well at night and is very efficient in absorbing wetness

Huggies Little Snugglers

• Can absorb well for overnight use but only for a maximum of 6 hours
• Mixed reviews on its pocketed waistband
• Some say its “back poop catcher” is great for keeping the messes in the diaper, others say it still leaks

In general, they’re both very efficient in absorbing wetness. Even if Pampers doesn’t have a “back poop catcher”

But they’re not perfect.

So you’ll still hear complaints as every baby reacts differently to these diapers.

Based on my testing, Size 1 Huggies feels so much softer and a slightly thicker than Size 1 Pampers diapers.

But Size 3 Huggies feels less padded, and less softer than Size 3 Pampers diapers.

Pampers Swaddlers is soft and cotton-like but is slightly scented.

Huggies Little Snugglers is as soft and as breathable but it also has a chemical smell and at times, can cause diaper rashes.

Pampers Swaddlers is bigger and wider than Huggies diapers.

Pampers Swaddlers also has a slightly stickier tab than Huggies diapers.

I like how Huggies Little Snugglers has the “back” and “front” label on the diaper.

It makes it easy to put on your baby (especially when you’re sleep-deprived first-time parent). No need to look closely at the diaper and figure out which side is which.

Meanwhile Pampers Swaddlers doesn’t have any label and has a plain, simple design.

Pampers Swaddlers has more available sizes than Huggies Little Snugglers.

Pampers Swaddlers sizes start at Newborn – Size 0 (less than 10 lbs) up to Size 8 (46 lbs and up). They also have Preemie sizes at -3, -2, and -1.

Huggies Little Snugglers are available in size Preemie (up to 6 lb.), Size Newborn, and up to size 6 (35+ lbs).

Wetness indicator

Both diapers have a wetness indicator.

Although I’ve seen some reviews that Pampers’ is a little sensitive. Even if the diaper is only slightly wet, it will immediately change the color. 

This might make you change the diapers quite often, which would mean buying and spending too much on diapers.

Both Huggies Little Snugglers and Pampers Swaddlers are equally absorbent and gentle, based at least on my test videos and the general feedback of tons of parents.

But both are not perfect diapers. No diaper is.

So I highly recommend to try out both diapers first as your baby can react differently to it.
