Ecoriginals got its start in Australia in 2011 by a husband and wife team, who are parents themselves and wanted a more eco-friendly diaper option for their family.
What’s also awesome about them is their pledge to plant 1 tree and remove 25 items of plastic waste from the ocean from every order done on their site!
I also like the fact that they’re quite transparent about their materials and where they make their diapers.
All their ingredients are sourced from the US, China, and Japan and are all assembled in China.
As of now, I’m guessing they don’t have the means to make their diapers locally. But according to their website, they are working closely with their partners in Australia and New Zealand to make that happen.

They offer 4 types of subscription services on their site which include the following:
- 3 Packs of Diapers + 3 Packs of Wipes
- 6 Packs of Diapers (50% OFF for the first subscription)

It’s pretty straightforward to order diapers on their website.
But, there are a few complaints though about their delivery service being slow and having unhelpful customer support.

This is the rallying cry of Ecoriginals – that they’re one of the world’s leading eco diapers.
Like any plant-based diapers, they are made with non-toxic materials that don’t contain:
- phthalates
- fragrances
- dioxins
- bleach
- lotions
- chlorine
- phenols
- formaldehyde
- carcinogenic dyes
- allergenic dyes
Their diapers are also made from FSC-certified wood pulp, non-GMO corn starch, and pure cotton.
And best of all, they carry the OEKO-TEX Confidence in Textiles label! This means that the product has been tested stringently for harmful substances and was made in an environmentally friendly facility.
They may not be as popular globally as Honest or Hello Bello but they’re quite transparent with their diaper ingredients which makes their users rave about them.
They’re very open about the fact that their sticky tabs and leg elastic diaper parts are not entirely made from plants.
And I think that’s a very endearing quality in a brand – being open and transparent.

- Super absorbent polymers: used to help absorbency in diaper
- Spandex: for ensuring a comfy fit to eliminate diaper leaks and spills.
- Polypropylene: for higher water absorption capacity
Comfort
I think this is what separates eco-friendly diapers from regular ones.
Most, if not all, are known to be very gentle, and soft and are very comfy to use, even on the most sensitive skin. And Ecoriginals is one of them.
Some parents mentioned that their babies seem to be allergic to almost all the diapers they’ve bought and Ecoginals was the only one that they had no issues with.
Others said Ecoginals was the only diaper that didn’t cause any irritation or diaper rashes to their baby’s skin.
Absorbency
If non-toxic diapers are known for their gentle and comfy feature, they are unfortunately also known for their shitty absorbency quality.
Ecorginals seems to have a mixed review though so there’s still hope!
