Background
Connetix was launched last June 2019 by 2 families in Australia.
One of the co-founders was a primary school teacher and a mother to three young children. While the other founder is a businessman with a background in Engineering.
Armed with these experiences, it was only natural for them to come up with one of the best magnetic tiles on the market.
They manufacture their products in China though, which can be a red flag for very picky customers. But they regularly do safety and quality control testing to ensure that their products are safe and are consistent, top-tier quality.
Safety and Durability
Connetix tiles materials are made from non-toxic ABS plastic which is BPA/ lead/ phthalate free, which makes it safe for kids.
They also use a method called ultrasonic welding, which makes its magnetic tiles extra secure. Especially when handled and thrown around by a rowdy toddler.
The ultrasonic welding (and rivets) provides strength and resistance to the Connetix tiles.
It keeps the tiles from breaking easily, which can lead to the magnets being released, which can be picked up and swallowed by younger kids.
Its beveled design keeps the material strong and even scratch resistant.
I’ve also seen a lot of feedback from other parents about how strong and durable Connetic tiles are, compared to other popular magnetic tiles.
Connetix tiles are also tested regularly and meet toy safety standards.

Magnetic Strength
Connetix has a really strong magnet that can sometimes turn into a negative feature.
It can be hard for younger toddlers or those who are a little bit late with their fine motor skills to take apart Connetix tiles, especially when they’re laying down or sandwiched together.
Connetix actually also claims to have stronger magnets compared to other tiles!
Theirs are also bigger and thicker, compared to the OG of magnetic tiles, the Magna Tiles.
Look and Feel
Connetix, like other magnetic tiles, has a translucent quality that allows light to go through.
Its beveled design, with a clear middle, creates enchanting clear refractions. This makes it perfect for playing with lights, shadows, and other more entertaining and educational activities for children.
Probably the only con I see from its beveled design is that some kids or parents might prefer a flat design.
Compatibility
Connetix tiles are compatible with the following magnetic tiles:
- Magna Tiles
- Picasso Tiles
- Playmags
- Magtelier
- Learn and Gro
- Earth Tiles
Expansion Range and Set
Connetix has various expansion range and sets which includes a rainbow range, pastel range, and clear range. They have base plates, ball packs, car packs, geometry packs and all sorts of several packs and sets.
Price
Connetix offers a variety of expansion sets and pieces for different prices.
Sometimes you can get it cheaper from popular e-commerce stores or other retailers.
But in general, Connetix isn’t exactly a cheap brand but it’s worth it if you want non-toxic and safe magnetic tiles for your children.
