Specs
The Babybjorn Cradle measures 31 x 23 x 26 inches (LxWxH), which doesn’t take up much room, making it suitable for a small nursery or a snug, limited space in your bedroom.
But its height can be a little bit of a hassle.
Especially for tall parents or c-section moms, as they have to bend low to carry or lay down their baby to sleep.

And if you have a huge, tall, chunky baby, you probably will only be able to use this for 3 months maximum.
The good thing about it is it weighs only 13 pounds/ 6 kg though, making it easy to transfer from one room to another.
Safety
The BABYBJÖRN Baby Cradle is considered a non-toxic bassinet.
It meets European and US safety standards and has a fabric that’s baby-safe and is certified Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 Class I.
It has a mesh side so it’s very breathable and you can quickly check on your baby without having to get up from your bed.

The Baby Bjorn cradle is made of high-quality wood and premium steel material, with an anti-slip feet feature.
So you don’t need to worry about it tipping over or sliding on a slippery floor.
It’s very solid and sturdy, even if it’s light.
Some parents mentioned using an old Baby Bjorn cradle for their 3rd babies, so that’s how durable this thing is!
But of course, don’t let your dog run full speed onto it, or don’t let your cat jump into the bassinet, as that can do a certain amount of damage.
Age Limit
The Baby Bjorn is built for newborns up to babies weighing 17 lbs (6 months old).
But if your baby is starting to roll or pull themselves up independently, better just transition to a crib.
Safer that way.
Assembly
The Baby Bjorn Cradle doesn’t exactly fold up quickly, without any tools.
You need to screw and unscrew the legs using an Allen key, which is included in the cradle.
But it’s manageable and just takes 5 to 7 minutes.
Think of assembling and disassembling Ikea furniture – that’s how you do it for the Baby Bjorn. It’s not hard, it just takes a little bit of time and effort but basically doable.
So you just fold its legs, and collapse the cradle using the available tools and the Baby Bjorn Cradle is portable enough to put in the car for traveling!
Soothing Features
The Babybjorn Cradle has a manual rocking feature – you can either rock your baby gently to sleep or, your baby can rock themselves once they’re moving inside the cradle.
But that’s it.
It doesn’t auto-rock, it doesn’t vibrate, play music, or whatsoever.
Maintenance
Cleaning the Baby Bjorn cradle is easy.
You can machine-wash both its outer mesh fabric and its mattress.
Just do it separately and don’t tumble-dry it.

Mattress
Most parents don’t like the thin and hard bassinet mattress that Baby Bjorn has.
Plus it doesn’t come with a mattress sheet, which is quite ridiculous.
Yes, the mattress has a padding cover, which you can technically use but having a dedicated mattress sheet is much more comfortable.
So it’s quite a hassle that Baby Bjorn doesn’t just include that in its cradle.
The mattress is waterproof though so that makes it easy to clean.
But I’ve read a few comments saying that once you wash the mattress, it doesn’t lay flat anymore.
Plus the mattress has some questionable materials.
It’s made from 100% polyether foam, with the mattress cover that’s 50% polyester, and 50% polyurethane (PU), and its bottom surface- is 100% polyester.
But they do have the Oeko-Tex® certification, and the Greenguard label, and aside from ASTM, they also are a JPMA-certified bassinet.
And apparently, BABYBJÖRN® released a statement saying that their products meet all safety requirements of the 2008 Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act and that they’ve certified to a rigorous, international standard (Oeko-Tex Standard 100; Class I), which prohibits the use of flame retardant chemicals.

The Baby Bjorn has a very sleek design that can go with any nursery decor.
And I’ve seen a lot of comments from parents that it really feels and looks like a high-quality bassinet.
Even parents that bought it second hand said that they just have it a thorough clean and it practically looks brand new!

And it’s made even more expensive because it doesn’t even come with a mattress sheet, which you need to buy separately!
